It was just after ten pm on a Monday and while we were assured a dry afternoon, it had not stopped pouring! Ray and me were sitting talking over the recent rugby results, at the ready for the next job for the day to arrive. Eventually we had the call from a young lady on a company trip who had gone to the Texaco filling garage in Upper Walthamstow and filled petrol in a diesel Citroen hire car by mistake. The unfortunate lady was very agitated by the sounds of it, telling me "I can not believe that I have destroyed the vehicle! I'm just so familiar with filling up my petrol vehicle that I had didn't remember I was running a diesel!" I asked her to relax and not to worry, and that these things regrettably can happen. She had managed to relocate the car into a secure position and, seeing as it was no more than a short distance away from us, we could find the woman rather quickly. The incorrect fuel was drained and she was able to once again go back to the Premier Inn she was lodging at. Although we got pretty soaked, it was all rewarding seeing her drive off contented and much less worried. Yet another fuel drain in Waltham Forest done well in my mind!

Wrong Fuel Drain Upper Walthamstow - Upper Walthamstow Wrong Fuel Assist
I appreciated a terrific afternoon golfing on my afternoon off and felt satisfied the following day as I headed out to help a new couple who were on vacation in Upper Walthamstow. They broken down after adding petrol into their Mercedes, and were approximately half an hour away. I emerged at their position and laughed to myself while I listened to the woman berating her partner for being so confused. "Exactly how could you possibly manage to put the wrong fuel in the car?" she demanded of him. I tried to tell her that this occurs constantly in Waltham Forest and that it is nothing to get worried about, however he in spite of everything got his ear bent by his wife. I felt genuine sympathy for the guy. In any case, I cleaned up and removed all of the wrong fuel, gave the engine a flush and filled it up with the proper fuel. Watching while they drove off I shouted goodbye and considered what her indoors would tell me if ever I made the very same error... I would personally under no circumstances hear the end of it!

Petrol in Diesel Upper Walthamstow - Upper Walthamstow Fuel Removal
This was exactly the graveyard shift. It was close to 3:30 in the morning and noone was around. It had been fairly quiet up to now, and Brian and I were loafing about reading a couple of old papers. That was an uncommon peaceful time in Waltham Forest. It was indeed so calm that the moment the telephone rang it made me jump! The person said: "I concluded my overnight shift and stupidly poured the wrong fuel in my Suzuki by mistake". We got him to tell us where he was situated and we headed out, getting to him in Upper Walthamstow not as much as half an hour later. The fuel was cleaned from the motor and he said many thanks for arriving so promptly. While we were heading back to base we spotted two women on the side of the highway who appeared to have a flat tyre. So we stopped to change it, to their elation.
